The other night just before we hit the sack, I taught the kids on how to sign the popular song : "Leaving on a Jet Plane", a song written by John Denver in 1966. Why? Because in two days time, the whole family will be going back to Mindanao to spend our Christmas holidays.
Since 3 days ago, I can't concentrate on my work so much anymore. Perhaps, overly excited? Anxious? I also suffer a heart palpitation oh well, perhaps I just need a nice 2 hours massage! Will surely enjoy that the moment I arrived in my home province. But prior to going, I still have the Christmas wish lists of my kids, mother, parents-in-law and both sides siblings. For my brother in Bukidnon, he requested for a Rocky Patel cigars as apparently, its very cold in Bukidnon these days.
If a holiday to Las Vegas is in your cards, then why not up the ante and book a stay at the Luxor Hotel and Casino? The Las Vegas strip is filled with wall-to-wall neon and behemoth mega-resorts, but in all that glitz, glamour and postmodern special effects the Luxor Hotel and Casino towers above the competition in its sheer architectural marvel and ingenuity. It is the most universally recognized hotel on the Vegas strip. Designed by Veldon Simpson, the Luxor is a 30-story, pyramid shaped hotel. The hotel is 11 meters high, and it contains over 4000 rooms. The Luxor Hotel takes it moniker from the ancient city in Egypt. To further accentuate the Egyptian ambiance, the Luxor also features a giant replica of the Great Sphinx of Giza. However, the Luxor’s most famous attribute is its high-powered spotlight. Shooting directly out of the top of the pyramid, it is said that this fixed beam is the brightest in the world and visible from outer space. Whether this is true or not is up for debate. However, there is no doubt it can be seen from the crowded markets in Cairo.
After you marvel at the Luxor’s architectural innovation like an archaeologist uncovering an ancient city, it is time to explore the rest of Las Vegas.
1. Start your journey by visiting another famous city. If you have never had a chance to ride the Chunnel and visit the City of Lights, then a trip to Paris is essential. There is a replica of the Eiffel Tower at Paris Las Vegas. Ride a 460-foot elevator to the top of the tower and be rewarded with a majestic, panoramic view of Las Vegas. Wearing a beret is optional, but be sure to have your camera ready.
2. Explore Freemont Street and uncover the beauty of vintage Las Vegas. Before the arrival of the mega-casinos, Freemont was the heart of the action. This is the old Las Vegas. Nicknamed Glitter Gulch in the old days, Freemont Street is home to such iconic casinos as the Golden Nugget, Mint and Eldorado Club.
3. Is it time for lunch? When it comes to cuisine, Las Vegas has come a long way. There is more to Vegas than cheap buffets. Spago, Coyote Café and Emeril’s are great foodie destinations. Emeril’s is located in the MGM Grand, and it is an excellent place to stop for lunch. It is a Cajun and Creole style restaurant, and it serves up the best seafood in Vegas.
After lunch, head back to the Luxor. It is time to hit the blackjack tables. Good luck will have you living like a Pharaoh in no time.

Have you noticed that the pork being sold at our supermarkets are getting leaner and leaner? That is because, each year, food scientists are finding ways to meet the demand of leaner pork with less fat. Well, it is indeed beneficial to our health as they say, however, there is still one great downside to it and that is the fact that it is the fat which moistens the pork and makes it taste so good because it carries the flavors. It is such a good news then to know that there are still farmers who preferred to raise the traditional native and rare breeds of pigs such as the Gloucestershire Old Spot, a certain breed of pig that has a distinct layer of juice-spurting backfat and marbling within the meat. The old spot pig produces a top quality meat for all purposes and has a very fine carcass. What a relief! Now, we no longer have to deny our tastebuds with such a mouthwatering dish plus you can just order them online and have them delivered to your home!

At Farmison, you’ll find a variety of food products produced from the Gloucestershire Old Spot breed from different farms such as Boned Shoulder, Boned & Rolled Leg and Middle Loin of Pork from the Abotts Close farm and Minced Pork, Silverside, Pork Belly Steaks, and Pork T-Bone from the Quarry Bank Farm. You can even order carrots, potatoes and other ingredients from them. They also sell bacon, hams, sausages and burgers and even have a long list of high quality meat products from other animals as well like beef, lamb, pork, veal, poultry, game and game birds. They’re animals are bred slowly and the meat are naturally dry-aged which makes it even more flavorful.
Now that Christmas is fast approaching, ordering from them is a wise choice. You’ll not just be able to put delightful food on your table, you’ll also be able to save your cooking time to bond with your family. Such a good deal, right? Therefore, go ahead and order now!

As I have mentioned in my earlier post, we went to Singapore for 5 days with the kiddos. We had some days solely for business and some for pleasure. For instance, on our third days was solely for pleasure.
First stop : Vivo City. When you plan to go to Singapore, its a must to visit Resorts World Sentosa. Really! The last MRT station is for Vivo City so we took our lunch there in preparation for our Universal Studios.

Happy Fiesta Tagoloan! Yes, my mother is from Tagoloan. She said that its their fiesta but I don't know whether its the town fiesta or just their barangay. Anyhow, she sent us this box full of goodies.

Filipinos especially in the provinces are really fond of celebrating fiestas. It is customary to prepare food, lotsa foods as all your relatives, friends, neighbors and all the passersby will come and visit you. Of course, in anticipation of such flock of people, my mom roasted one pig and another 2 for the menudo, grilled pork and other delicacies.
For us siblings who are based in Manila, she sent us this package with half of the lechon and some more food. My brother fetched this from Cebu Pacific. Thanks dear Mother!

We are all excited for our Bukidnon trip in December. The kids are talking about it day and night. This trip will not only lead to the beach, lakes and rivers but there will be a lot of hiking, mountain climbing and most probably camping in the mountainous Province of Bukidnon. To start with, I have to armed with kids with appropriate hiking gear. I specifically looking for the lowa renegade boots.

This would surely fit my hubby, I wonder if there are similar outdoor shoes for kids. I still have some seldom used rubber shoes so that would do the job.

In as much as we enjoyed our holiday in Singapore, our accommodation is just a "so-so" hotel. Hotel 81 Star is one of the member of Hotel 81 chain of hotels. It's located in the red light district but considerably moderate atmosphere compared to other red light district areas I've known. Don't get me wrong. Hey, that's Singapore remember.
Anyway, going back to our hotel room, we were provided a queen mattress bed, 1 bottled water replenished every day, coffee sets and some toiletries. Oh wait, there was also an old tv sets with very limited tv channels. Don't expect something fancy, after all, the hotel is priced reasonably so expect the same amenities. I spoke to one chamber maid and ask about how they wash the towels and sheets, she said that they wash these using whirlpool refrigerators. This is one thing though that I admire of this hotel, is that they kept it clean and cool.

I met the ex-girlfriend of my brother unexpectedly. We were texting while we were in Singapore but we didn't have the time to meet up as she is working in a Korean Restaurant at Amara Hotel. Being in a Food Service Jobs, her duty falls when we were also busy doing our activities, not much luck! But while we were already in the airport waiting for our flight back home, she texted me that she was on the way to the airport to send her housemate, who was also going home.
Anyway, it was nice meeting an old friend, a friend that is close to our heart.Take care friend! God bless!

Howdy trippers, we just arrived from our 5 days travel adventure in Singapore. In line with this, I have a series of travel post to be launched in the coming days. I have been really busy lately. Documents piled and so many emails to be answered, and yet so many interesting blog post to think. Oh well, let me start with our first day in Singapore.

Yes, our first day was the most promising as we got to see the many faces of Singapore. We took the Duck and Hippo Sightseeing Bus for S$23 for adult and S$13 for kids. We sat at the double-decker open top Hippo bus. They boys were amazed at how clean and green Singapore is! There are high and modern buildings, amazing architecture, admirable mix of different cultures. We first took the City Tour where you can hop on hop off at a certain area you want but we took from start to finish, after that, we transferred to the Heritage Tour. Unfortunately, it was raining when we moved to the Heritage Tour so we didn't enjoy as much as we did in the City Tour. The boys got envy at one of the tourist as he was carrying along his scorpion exo-400 helmets. Boys are boys! The next time I hear them saying : Mommy, please buy me a helmet. lol

Every year, we never failed to attend the Oktoberfest organized by the German Club. Of course, why would we? Our boss is a German and we like to parteey! So we bought 10 tickets at roughly PhP 2,000 each. We invited a couple of friends and we partied the night away.
This was my second servings of pure Bavarian food. Lots of sausages and German food to choose from with free flowing San Miguel draft beer.

Cheers to everyone!

My entry for Food Trip Friday and Yummy Sunday.

Yes, you read it right? That's exactly my question! You see, the whole family will be on holiday this coming December. We will be visiting my husband's family in Dumaguete on December 19, stay there until the 26th and travel to Cagayan de Oro to visit my family. But how?
The only way is via Cebu Ferries (boat) but upon checking their website, they only have one trip per week and that's every Sunday. Now this is a problem! We have to be in Dumaguete on the 26th (Monday) because that is my hubby's birthday and we need to be in Cagayan de Oro on the 27th or 28th as we still have to travel around 4 hours to my hometown in Bukidnon. Oh no! How? Any brilliant idea to share here?
I can only think of traveling to Cebu first and perhaps stay there overnight with my Tita. Then fly again via Cebu Pacific or Philippine Airlines but I am sure it will be too costly. Perhaps, just go straight to the boat and sleep there overnight? I don't know! I have 2 months to think.

Agoda.com is an online travel agency that you can book and buy cheap hotel deals. I have been asking around of a good yet cheap hotel or apartment since we are a group of six, four adults and two kids. Booking the backpackers way is also expensive. Some hostels charged S$30 so if you multiply by 6, will come out more expensive than booking two rooms in a 2 star hotel. So thats what I did.
I booked at Hotel 81 Star via Agoda.com website. My friend recommended this hotel around Geylang. Although there are several hotels around the area with the same price range, I booked this hotel since my friend already stayed here. We will not be staying in the hotel anyway, so we really just need the bed and bath. And if kids around, the hotel must have a television, a better alternative will be samsung tvs because of its picture quality and cinematic experience.

For two days now, I have been browsing for a reasonable and affordable accommodation in Singapore. I have searched through area by area but ended up buying around Geylang area as it is a lot cheaper compared to Marina Bay where the exhibition will be. As long as the hotel is near an MRT station, we are good to go! We are not so fussy anyway as long as it is clean.
Singapore is such a beautiful country. My kids will be traveling with us thus we must make extra precautions and plan the activities ahead of time. Night Safari is one of our top priority. It is the world's first wildlife park at night. The kid's amazing world will surely rock when they hear the roar of wild animals like lions, tigers, hyenas and leopards. And dinosaur? I am not sure if they have it there - but that would be an added fun.
We will be flying on the 25th of this month via Cebu Pacific Air. It's a low cost airline so we cannot expect a great ride with meals and others stuff on board but as long as it is cheap and clean, again - its good already! Who knows, one day we can afford to fly with jet charter. That would be awesome! A private jet for the entire family! Sounds good to me!
Anyway, aside from Night Safari, any suggestions on kid-friendly activities? Oh before I forget, I also want to bring the kids to Universal Studios. Where else?

Have you been to Japan? In my lifetime, not yet but Japan is a very beautiful country. Thus, this country belongs to my travel wish list.
The tourism industry of Japan suffered so much due to the recent calamities. But amidst these bad news, Japan is still and for sure safe.
Japan's tourism agency quoted that they are planning to give away 10,000 free round-trip tickets to tourist provided that they must blog and spread over social media sites their detailed travel plans and reviews their experiences.
I say YES! I will surely make a lovely post. As a matter of fact, we have a couple of Japanese clients who are enticing us to visit their country.

Still on our upcoming trip, I heard that Singapore is a very expensive country. So as early as now, I search for cheap hotels which is quite near Suntec because thats where the exhibition for Fespa is going to be held. Uncle C lived in Singapore for 5 years, and he knows the country by heart, but its also nice that I have some information especially that I will be travelling with my kids. Any important tip you want to share with? Perhaps, affordable hotel, theme parks, good food or even a detailed blog post of your previous Singapore trips will do.
My kids kept on pestering me for their newly applied passport although I told them that the delivery will only be on October 14 - thats one week before our travel. They even asked me why it took that long? This is our first out of the country trip with the whole family - oh well, minus my little Alexa - she is too small for the trip. Thus, I am making extra effort to make it memorable, probably search for digital scrapbooking layouts so I can display our photos online.

It is interesting to see the statistics of fraternities in the US. As per the infograhic here:
It is admirable to see that most influential people in the US be it politicians, businessmen or leaders - mostly belong to a fraternity group. Same here in the Philippines but recently, its alarming to see the so called "hazing" with the group.
The American college fraternity is one of the few institutions in the US higher education structure which was not borrowed from European models. Not surprisingly, it has been a symbol of American college student independence, pride, and leadership. Here are some interesting statistics about fraternities in the US.

Mexican Food: Slightly different but tantalizingly delicious andpalatable!
Cuisine Friday, October 07, 2011
Are planning to hold a one-of-a-kind event? Are you looking for unique reception catering exquisite food? Or a banquet hall Frisco that can conveniently hold your gathering and special events? Or a restaurant where you can simply party and chat with your friends or loved ones?
Well, a Mexican restaurant Frisco might just be right for you. Yes, I recommend a Mexican restaurant. Surprised? Well, you shouldn’t be. Because Mexican cuisine is award winning and well-known all over the world for varied flavors, colorful decorations and variety of spices and ingredients used. In fact, it has been added by UNESCO to its lists of the world’s “Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity”! Though style of Mexican dishes originates in Mexico, it has a long and varied history that has now evolved through the years of blending indigenous cultures and influences.
For those who craves for hot and spicy foods, the Mexican cuisine can surely offer you a lot of dishes to choose from since chilli peppers play a big part in the traditional mexican food. However, most of Mexico’s gastronic delights are not always spicy unlike what others say and believe although one can always add some minced chilli, chilli powder, or spicy salsa to any mexican dish. Some dishes are simply creamy and sweet and are compromised of mild combination of corn and beans but are still totally flavorful and equally delicious such as the tacos, cheese crisps, burritos, tostadas, sopes, flautas and enchiladas. Aside from being luscious and delightful, most of these Mexican dishes are really good for those who are health conscious since they are lower in fat and calories and are bursting in important vitamins and nutrients.
Still not convinced? So hurry up and try it! You’ll definitely be captured by the cuisine’s rich, incredible flavors and will surely say that it’s deliciously different!
December is fast approaching and the kids are already excited for their long vacation break. I used to buy our tickets months before our departure to get really the cheapest deal. But wasn't able to buy due to financial constraints - cost cutting, expenses here and there, etc.
Here is the plan: December 17/18 - fly to Dumaguete, stay there until December 26 (daddy's big day), then proceed to Cagayan to spend the rest of the holiday with my mother. Back to Manila on January 2, 2011.
I have been searching for cheap flights / cheap airfares for Manila to Dumaguete on December 2011 (after the school holiday) but to no avail. Last week, I was informed by a friend that Cebu Pacific offers promo fares for Manila to Cagayan de Oro. Without second thought, I searched online and indeed was able to book and buy 6 tickets for Manila Cagayan for only Php 8,000. But- instead of January 2, I bought the December 31 flight as it was on sale. Manila - Cagayan de Oro ticket purchase - solved!
Today, I saw in my email that Manila-Dumaguete is now again offered at Php 588.00. I tried to book again but instead of 17/18 - I choose 19 as it is on sale. Unfortunately, the credit card already declined due to insufficient credit line I guess. lol So I opted to pay using BDO.

We will be attending the Fespa Asia 2011 in Singapore end of October. In line with this, Uncle C suggested to bring the kids along so they can visit Singapore too. I am worried as our company is currently in cost cutting measures and the whole family is flying to Singapore for holiday?! Nah! Lets just say - business with pleasure!
Anyway, we bought the tickets already for 6 persons. Luckily, we still have ample time to renew the passport. Perhaps, luck is with us as we booked an earlier DFA appointment although I heard that the queue is long. The boys passport expired last January 2011, their appointment was on September 29 and was advised that the passport will be delivered on October 14 - in time for our October 25 trip.
Oh well, I hope the trip will push through especially that we have bought the tickets already. And I hope that we could find new suppliers for vinyl stickers.

The Top 3 Destinations in Latin America for Low Cost Villa Rentals
Accommodation Saturday, October 01, 2011
Descended from old world cultures and evolving into something uniquely their own, the countries of Latin America also play host to some of the nicest tourist spots in the world. Here are three villa rentals with bargain rates in and around this scenic region.

[View of Las Mananitas Penthouse, a low-cost luxury villa in Cabo San Lucas]
Located in the friendly Cabo San Lucas region, the Las Mananias Penthouse is an attractive three-bedroom villa with rates from $450 - $795, making it a great choice for a mid-sized family or a few couples who can split the cost to lower the price even further. The introductory cost isn’t the only thing that makes this one of the greatest values among the Cabo San Lucas villas, though. The Penthouse has not just a swimming pool and Jacuzzi, but also fitness facilities, tennis, beachfront access, outdoor cooking, and perhaps best of all, resort privileges at the associated Las Mananitas Resort. Whether you want to stay for a week or a month, this villa is an ideal choice for a vacation.

[View of Mariposa Mexico, a low-cost luxury villa in Mexico]
Located in the greater Mexican area, Mariposa Mexico is one of those Mexico villas with astounding facilities at excellent price. Going as low as $280 - $840 per night, this two-bedroom villa features a panoramic view of scenic San Miguel de Allende and a walk of mere minutes to shops and the popular Jardin Park. With a comfortable central pool, decorative bell tower, well-equipped kitchen, and business facilities for those who’d like to take their work with them, Mariposa Mexico is a bargain villa and a prime destination for those looking to take a trip to experience the unique culture of Mexico.

[View of Reserva Conchal Malinche Group, a low-cost luxury villa in Costa Rica]
With a spectacular view of the ocean and a surprisingly high rate of choice in where you want to sleep, this is one of the Costa Rica villas with a rate most attractive to families and groups. The cost is between $130 and $940 per night, with the primary factor being how many of the four bedrooms are being rented; indeed, this villa can accommodate several families at a fairly similar price for each one, making it as convenient for groups traveling together as it is for a couple or small family. With access to a children’s pool and activity area, private beach access, indoor and outdoor amenities, resort privileges, computer equipment, and a swimming pool, among many other features, this plush villa is a gem being sold at a bargain.

If you are planning a family camping trip this summer, here are some useful tips that I want to share to make sure that planned camping with the kids is not only a fun experience but should also be safe for all the participants.
Prior to camping, you have to select in advance which tent to use, its advisable to borrow or buy a bigger tent to accommodate all participants. Then, you have to practice assembling the tents in your garage or your backyard, you don't want to go to the camping site and finds out some are missing right? It's best to practice so you can install the tent faster.
I am sure you have selected where to camp already. Just make sure that a thorough check on the area, hiking areas, points of interest, what are the amenities offered, and accessibility to first aid.
You then have to create a checklist so you don't forget anything. Here are my suggestions in the list: cooking utensils, food containers, frying pan, bucket, stove, gear such as a frying pans, map, sleeping bags, first aid kits, flashlights, garbage bags, toiletries, sunscreen, ointments, insect repellent, rain coats, jackets.
Try to bring several canned goods. Would suggest to prepare some food while still at home and put them in the containers. You don't want to spend most of your time preparing for the food.
Even if you are at home, or in camping grounds, always remember to take care of Mother Nature thus throw your rubbish at the proper compost tumbler.
Sleeping under the stars, communing with nature, and camping with the kids - what else do you want in life? Just enjoy the time with your family.

Bukidnon is a landlocked province in Mindanao which is considered to be its food basket and the home of the finest and sweetest pineapples in the Philippines. But, there’s more to it than just pineapples!
There is no sea in Bukidnon but you’ll surely be amazed by its lakes, springs, rivers and waterfalls. Just along the Sayre Highway in Sumilao, Bukidnon, you’ll be able to see the
For fishing or boating or day tour excursion, the Lake Apo in Valencia is highly recommended. It is 24-hectares wide and 85-ft deep and has been dubbed as the cleanest and greenest inland body of water in Northern Mindanao. Another wonder-lake in Bukidnon is the Lake Pinamaloy in Don Carlos which can also be seen from the highway. It is a guitar-shaped freshwater lake that’s often used as picnic and fishing area. Another fishing area in Bukidnon is the Malagaha Lake which is a fishing ground for mudfish and a hunting area for wild ducks.
If swimming is your game, don’t miss to visit the Dila Falls whose waters is pleasantly cool, or the Mangima Park where you can also do horseback riding, or its numerous spring resorts such as RR Family Spring Resort which is overlooking the Pulangi Lake.
For thrill and adrenaline-rush seekers, don’t miss the Dahilayan Adventure Park. Experience for yourself their breathtaking and heart-pumping ziplines which has been dubbed as Asia’s longest dual zip-line. Its lunchpoint is 4,700-ft above sea level and at an stretch of 840-m. Aside from the zip lines, you may also ride down the hill with the Zorb or dine with your family and friends inside a theme park with lots of pine trees.
As per the mountain trekkers, Mt. Kitanglad is perfectly right for you. It is the second-highest mountain in the Philippines which towers up to 9,000-ft therefore reaching its summit would surely be a challenge to the climbers. Attempting the “Mt. Dulang-dulang – Mt. Kitanglad Traverse” is also considered bby some as one of the top 5 most challenging climbs in the country.
Bukidnon is also known for its many caves. One of which is the Sumalsag Cave which is one of the longest. Its total length is approximately 1,859-m. Aside from the delights and adventures you’ll get in exploring this cave, it other unique feature is its exit where one has to dive underwater to get to the other side of the wall of the exit passage.
When you’re in Bukidnon and you love golf, missing out the Del Monte Golf and Country Club would be a loss. The world-class golf course is 6,390 yards, par-72, and is made up of 18 holes. It is located within the pineapple plantation of Del Monte Philippines, Inc.
If you’re in for spiritual retreat, the Monastery of Transfiguration would be a good place to do so. It is nestled in the slopes of Malaybalay and hidden in its hills and trees thus offering solitude and serenity.
Bird watching is also an enjoyable thing to do in Bukidnon. The Bird Watch Tower in Lalawan, Dalwangan, Bukidnon houses the Philippine Eagle and is a host to rare bird species like the Philippine hanging parakeet, giant scops, owl, and species of the flycatcher, Brahmin kite and jungle fowls.
Indeed, Bukidnon is not just the home of sweet pineapples but of beautiful sights and spots as well. Touring around Bukidnon and enjoying the wonders its offering would surely be an experience of a lifetime. So, pack up your bags and enjoy Bukidnon’s wonders first-hand!

The weather is unpredictable today, rain is on and off at least here in Cavite. So instead of walking to the canteen, we decided to order from Jollibee.
Now, this is my quick lunch. My old time favorite: Chicken and Spaghetti meal.

Everytime I travel, my colleagues noticed that I don't put any makeup on, not even my favorite accessories, not even my fancy bags and high-heeled shoes. I try to keep as simple as possible so I can focus more on taking photographs, enjoying the scenes and not worry about my makeup smudges and aching feet. But one thing I don't forget and don't go out without, it's my eb5 facial cream. It's my only armor to protect my face.
As soon as I know the itinenary for the day, that's the time I dress up accordingly! I also make sure I have comfortable shoes and clothes, because when you say travel/trip - means you walk!

A friend of mine in the US recently called me over Skype. I was at first skeptical in accepting her invitation as the surname doesn't ring a bell, but after checking her Facebook account, found out that she is now married to an American. Anyway, we had a long conversation from our college days, to her house renovation, from the materials used to her newly installed underground storm shelter at home. I am surprised that such structures exist, it's an idea that the Philippines should invent and innovate. I hope I could visit my friend in the US so I can check what she is actually talking about.
Everytime I book a ticket via online ticketing system, I kept on asking myself, whether I will purchase a travel insurance or not. Most of the time, I don't as the fare will end up more expensive than the usual. Aside from the fare increase, I am also not aware of the benefits that come with it. Although it is a must if you travel abroad, but traveling within the Philippines? Is it necessary? Oh well, these are questions which I will raise the next time I purchase a ticket.

My kids love ice cream! I guess everybody wants to eat ice cream, who wouldn't?

Taken this the other week, I asked our helper to buy tomato sauce in Finds Convenience Store and since one of the boy came along, he bought 3 pieces of individually wrapped cookies and cream flavor.

Our company is a member of one of the printing association in the country and normally, they would offer package deals which include round trip tickets, accommodation, entrance fees and a city tour. However, for this trip, we prefer to do it on our own to be avail to avail of discounted ticket sales from Cebu Pacific, Airphil Express and even Philippine Airlines. These 3 airlines are competing high and low with incredibly low prices. Amazingly low at times!

Traveling outside the country can be fun, educational and exciting. But you will never fully enjoy your trip when you constantly think of your children and family back home.
When I was single, I went to Germany for 3 months to accompany my boss for a business related case in Netherlands. Being in the export and import company, there are times that you have to shell out some money out of trust and verbal man-to-man agreement. Of course there were some documentation and legal documents issued prior to sending him the money, the supplier even came to the Philippines to check on our facilities and capabilities. A good relation back then was already established. So my boss trusted him. In the end, the supplier didn't ship out anything. Thus, we were forced to go to Germany and eventually visited him and stayed in his house - just to make sure. I missed my mother and brothers but it was manageable. I called my mom maybe once or twice only because it was just too expensive to call from a mobile phone though I sent her a couple of international SMS.
My next visit in Europe was when I am already married and have 2 kids. This time around, I cant help but cry at night as being away from your hubby and especially kids is simply difficult. I kept on counting the days and hours each day. But with services like of Rebtel, calling Philippines is now made affordable and within reach. You can basically use their services using any mobile phone, telephone and even public phones.
My last trip in Europe was not as hectic as the first one. Attending a printing and advertising exhibit was our main goal, at the same time visiting old suppliers and new prospects. At the end of the day, I have the option to call or sms my family back home.

Many people say Cagayan de Oro is boring. Well, you better think twice because checking the city out is not gonna be easy as 1 2 3. If you’re on a tourist vacation, take note of the tourist spots here in Cagayan de Oro and you will surely have experiences of a lifetime. This would be a fun place to go when I take a break from reading about the classes I want to take on Guide to Online Schools. This is a nice place to relax.
Just minutes away from the airport is the Macahambus Adventure Park where you can cross their Skybridge that runs for 135 meters across a height of 150 feet, go ziplining on the 120-meter Zip Line 150-feet above the ground, explore the famous Macahambus cave and rappel down the gorge into the forest floor. Of course, don’t forget to try whitewater rafting, tubing and Kayaking. You can also check out the Mapawa Nature Park where you, also, get to rappel along a 65-ft waterfall, walk sideways through the monkey trail, go horseback riding, and ziplining 100ft above the ground.

If you need a place to rest while enjoying nature, you can do so at the Malasag Nature Trail and Eco-Tourism Village. They have a camping ground, park, swimming pool, cottages, butterfly garden, animal sanctuary, native restaurant, souvenir shop and museum.
If you want to go for a nature trekking, you can visit the Migtugsok Falls in Cugman or The Monique Cave in Barangay Mambuaya. You can also visit High Ridge on a hilltop in Aluba if you want to see the best panoramic view of Cagayan de oro especially at night.
If you’re into a religious tour, you can visit the famous Black Nazarene housed in the Nazareno Parish Church, Carmelite Monastery located in Camaman-an’s hilltop, and the St. Augustine Cathedral. So now, get some fun, fun, fun under the Cagayan de Oro's sun.

On my way to Maramag, we stopped at Impasugong upon seeing these newly constructed landmark in the corner of Impasugong. I must admit, was impressed and had to stop to look and of course take some photos. I may not have taken any photography courses from accredited online schools, but I enjoy it and I think these are good photos.

I was not able to get a closer look of the figures as the cement was still fresh. The workers actually invited me to come over but I was kind of shy to bother them. But at least, I was able to get a glimpse of these beautiful landmark on its initial stage.

I am from Bukidnon but never been to Impasugong. Can you imagine that? I mean - thats the way going to Cagayan de Oro but it was my first time to step on it and not even in the town proper. How I wish I could spend time more in Bukidnon. I miss my province so much!

In a hot and humid day, I always like to eat halohalo. Its the Filipino version of ice cream. The best ice cream for me is from Chowking.
This photo is taken in Cagayan de Oro during their fiesta. It was so hot and traffic and thought of halo-halo!

Beach and Outdoor Activities for our Christmas Holiday
beach activities Saturday, September 03, 2011
It's a "BER" months already and Christmas is just around the corner. Needless to say, its time too to buy redenvelope's christmas gifts for families and friends back home. It smells holiday in the side of town already. I just had a short getaway, but without my hubby and kids with me - it's not really a holiday. Thus, as early as now, I am looking for ways to save on bucks with sacrificing the activities for the coming Christmas holiday.
The beach is usually the safest choice for a family getaway, but since we will be traveling to Dumaguete and Bukidnon, would probably prepare for a beach activities whilst in Dumaguete and mountain climbing, white water rafting, zip line and other outdoor activities for Bukidnon. Well, sounds good already.

Vacation planning can be stressful at the same time exciting especially if all participants like your husband/wife and the kids will contribute some information on what to do, where to go, when to go and how you want it to end. These are simple questions yet difficult to answer. While others prefer to travel as backpackers or let's play-by-ear trips or let's see how it goes methods, this is not possible with kids of varying ages. There are so many factors to consider depending on the age of the participants. It will be good to take a break from our online education to reconnect as a family. That is very important in life.
There are many nice yet affordable resorts and vacation destinations in the U.S. but only a few cater to children of all ages, from toddlers to teenagers. One of the recommended getaway from my friends is the vacation at hammock beach resort.
Our family is looking into traveling with the kids next year. I have one year to plan for our family getaway. Guess its time for me to check on special offers and family deals.

Rain, rain go away. Come again another day. Don't we all wish for such whenever we are stuck at home when heavy rains pour? But for how long? Today is the start of a long rainy weekend holiday, it is proclaimed by the government that Monday and Tuesday as a public holiday. While others are happy to stay at home, I have to travel to Bukidnon to attend to some important court hearing.
My mom is quite excited for my short trip and is already planning for a series of activities. But I have to priority on my work so lets how it goes! Whilst in Cagayan de Oro, I have to meet another friend who has a recruitment agency for Emergency Medical Technician Jobs. Its like hitting 3 birds in one stone, 3 jobs in one visit! I love long weekends!

More and more Filipinos are seeking greener pastures outside the country. Whether right or wrong, maybe, but I cannot see my family living outside the country. I am sure they can easily adapt to the new environment, new friends and new culture. I am not closing doors, as we don't know what the future will bring us, at least we are ready should life becomes harder here. A friend of mine is already in Canada and happy in their new place. She invited me to visit them next year and mentioned that there are Cochrane apartments for rent.
Lets play cowboys and cowgirls! I heard these from my kids while they were playing one day. For children who grow up in the city, living in the countryside with ranches and animals is an adventure!
Thus a visit to Cochrane, Alberta will be a joy to them! They love to play cowboys and cowgirl at home.

Christmas is just around the corner. Aside from preparations for gift giving, I am checking now for our upcoming Christmas holidays with the family. Cebu Pacific offers the lowest rate but with 6 traveling parties, it too costly. Thus I am waiting for "piso fare" from other airlines.
I will try to avail of a payday advance loan to finance the tickets from Manila to Dumaguete and probably use our savings for the tickets for Cagayan de Oro to Cagayan de Oro boat ride and flight back to Manila from Cagayan de Oro.
France is known to be the most romantic place on earth that when you search on the net, the country's synonym is romance. It is rich in history, culture and scenic beauty. I might want to look for French classes from a list of online colleges to learn more French before we go there. It would be great to know the language.
My hubby can attest to this statement as he already visited Paris a few years ago. I have been to Europe but not in France yet, thus consider this as my top wish list dream destination.

The Medieval Fortified City of Carcassonne
These are the must-see places while in France:
- Château des Milandes, the residence of Josephine Baker
- Château Clos Lucé, this is where Leonardo da Vinci spent his final years
- Caves at Lascaux II, this is where the replica of the prehistoric cave art are stored
- Fontevraud Abbey, site of the original graves of King Henry II of England and his wife, Eleanor of Aquitaine
- The Medieval Fortified City of Carcassonne
- The Loire Valley
- Mont Saint Michel
- Paris and the Banks of the Seine
The travel agency next door is offering package tours for France using British Airways. I checked on their website already but its better to talk personally to discuss the itinerary in details.

Fellow trippers and travellers, SM Deparment Store has an ongoing sale of up to 50% off on bags and luggages.
I have to buy for myself a small trolley bag for a short travel as I have been using hubby's luggage for ages already. Its quite big for a 3 days trip.
This sale is only from August 1 to August 31, 2011. So I have a few days left before the sale is over!

As I was searching for the details for a Print and Pack Exhibit in Bangkok end of this month, the ever reliable search engine MR. G also provided me with the information about the 22nd Philippine Travel Mart.
This exhibition is the largest in the Philippines targetting the travel and tourism sector. I was in the last present in the last exhibition and the offers were really great. I was drooling with the offers. But I was short in budget then, so wasn't really able to plan for a family vacation.

This time around, I have to prepare for our Disney trip in Hongkong. My friend who owns a travel agency will also join so this is a plus. But prior to the trip, I must check on air ambulance service to make sure that our trip will be fun, educational and risk free for the family.

A One Stop Shop For Bills Payment, E-Loading, Money Transfer and Ticketing
cheap airfare Monday, August 15, 2011
A friend of mine in multi-level marketing visited me last Saturday to introduce to me the latest concept and a possible business venture. This could possibly be my next move into another sideline business that I am thinking about.
The concept offers all-in-one shop offering cellphone loading, ticketing for local and international flights, bills payment, and money transfer. What makes this so inviting is the fact that all of that is a necessity in every household and every business. You could be a one-stop-shop for all needs.
I am already 80% sold out to be part of this. But prior to finalizing all details, I am already in search for flyers printing to be distributed to subdivisions, houses and business establishments, rack card printing for business establishments for ticketing and others, maybe a tarpaulin printing too to be posted on top of the store and displayed outside the establishment. I will probably make my own presentation to be posted in You Tube and in my blogs so I can ask my friends who are working and living outside the country to check.
What made me really decide for this is the fact that I like to travel here and abroad. When I checked their system and how it works - wow - its so cheap and easy to maneuver that any individual or newbie in technology can adapt easily. Our family of five will travel in December for Dumaguete and Cagayan de Oro and getting into this system will save me from high ticketing cost. If you are interested, just buzz me using the contact form.

I skipped dinner last night! I was not hungry at all. When I arrived from the office, I was so damn tired. I ate one whole sweet pomelo while watching TV Patrol. After the news, I started blogging again until 9:30 PM, before bed, the nanny prepared milk for Alexa, Milo for Topoy, and Energen Choco for Francis and so I also asked for my own Energin in vanilla flavor. Yummy!
Costa Rica is a small country located in Central America. Its a tiny nation but is rich in natural wonders, amazing wildlife and a wide selection of outdoor activities. The flora and fauna are so rich that you can find more than hundreds even thousands of bird species, butterflies, plant species, orchids, amphibians and reptiles species.
There are several large river systems spanning a small country and offers opportunities for visitors to experience Costa Rica's wildlife. The most popular options for Costa Rica river cruises are Tarcoles River, Savegre River, Celeste River and Naranjo Pacuare River where tourist can enjoy the tropical climate, luxuriant vegetation while rafting through rugged and awesome canyons, past quiet swimming holes, and along the spectacular waterfalls and rainforest. Costa Rica is surely the home to some of the best white water rafting in the world!
This is ideal for adventurous travelers and backpackers. For my family, I am sure my kids would love the adventure but I might not be able to take the white water rafting as I am scared of deep water and rough rapids.
My neighbor owns a travel agency and she is organizing a package deal trips for Costa Rica that includes the river cruise and white water rafting for next year. I have yet to consult my husband but I doubt that he would agree! I guess I have to conquer my fear but starting at the water rapids in Bukidnon in December. This is a must for me in preparation of bigger and brighter adventure!

Excited for your upcoming trip? Now don’t get too busy planning that you forget one important task that you need to do: pack your things. If you’re going to be gone for a day or two then packing is relatively easy but it becomes quite stressful if you are traveling for at least a week or two. Don’t forget that airline companies have weight limits for checked in and carry on baggage and if you don’t want to pay the price then you should know how to pack light.
Backpackers are probably the best when it comes to packing light for a trip. The key here is to have almost everything you need without too much weight. Aside from not having to pay for an excess baggage, a light pack could provide you with more mobility and a stress free trip especially if you are about to walk around. The weight of a heavy luggage could easily tire out anyone.
A tip here is to become practical when it comes to packing. In most cases, you won’t need to carry all bathroom necessities with you; chances are the hotels provide those amenities and any other small stuff you might find it at a convenience store. When it comes to clothing, always pack a pair of jeans that you can wear for a few times. Know the weather at your destination ahead of time so that you could pack according to the season.
And while a lot of people might not survive without their electronic gadgets, it is best to keep them at a minimum. Just bring the ones that are really important such as mobile phone, camera and a laptop.
Jamie is a freelance content writer is also fond of traveling and outdoor adventures.
She enjoys working on a gulvsliber project which is about floor sander.

A couple friend of mine from Tandag, Surigao del Sur came to Manila to find a new suppliers of shoes and bags. After 2 days, they were finished with their business and came to visit us.
They arrived in the warehouse just in time for our dismissal. We stayed for an hour in the canteen for a small chitchat with our boss, who happens to know them too a few years back. Donna and Ferdie brought 4 boxes of Krispy Kreme for the kids but after talking and looking at the boxes, we were tempted to open it. And indeed we finished one box. I gave one box for my brother as he was leaving for Bulacan. The rest of the donuts, I brought home! It was simply delicious! Surprisingly!

They simply loved it!

In this day and age it can be hard to eat healthy. With your busy schedule, especially if you have children, many people find it easier to grab whatever is available and the quickest and deal with the health consequences later. With the following tips for soups you’ll learn how to make sure that the food you grab is of the healthy variety.
Soup is tasty, filling, and good for you anytime. There are hot soups and believe it or not even cold soups. Many of the warm soups are even good eaten cold or lukewarm.
First, choose your favorite soup. A popular choice of many is the infamous chicken noodle soup. There’s nothing better when you are under the weather than the warm chicken broth soothing your throat.
Preparing your own soup creations at home is the best way to go. No matter which type of soup you choose to make, be sure to use fresh ingredients. The other items you’ll need are plenty of cups with lids and a blender. A good soup always starts with the stock. For chicken soup, make the broth by boiling the remains of the chicken you had for dinner. Add the herbs and seasonings of your choice and boil until the chicken bones come out clean. Any remaining meat will be included in the broth. Once the broth cools completely, ladle it into air-tight jars or containers for storing.
If you’re more of a beef and vegetable soup lover, you can use commercial canned broths or bouillon cubes for the base of your soup. Season the stock really well and boil before adding any other ingredients. Once the stock is ready, all that is left to do is toss in your favorite veggies. Again, wait until the soup is completely cooled before pouring into storage or serving containers. Then eat it and if there is some leftovers - freeze it.
So whenever you want soup, just get it from the fridge and reheat it.. As I said earlier, it could be hot or cold whichever you like best.

I have been hearing good reviews about an island resort in Hilton Head South Carolina. It is located in the beautiful Beaufort County. I have never been in this country yet but it is in the top of my travel wish.
Do you know why? Because the island has a lot to offer to vacationing families. Of course, we just want to give and provide our family the best getaway. We only travel once a year, at least for most of us, and so before going on that much awaited trip, one must check the full itinerary.
Here are the possible activities that you can do in the heart of Hilton Head:
1. Bicycle riding - you can tour the whole island using bicycle. So why not bring your biking gear for a day of bicycle ride.
2. Enjoying the wild life - while on the bicycle ride, be sure to stop and enjoy watching wild animals that sure are just around the corner.
3. Water Sports - If you are for kayaking, para-sailing, jetski and paddling, there are a lot of water sport equipments that you can rent out.
4. Shopping and Spa - A holiday vacation isn't complete without going to a spa and shopping. This is a must!
5. Historical journey - If history is your cup of tea, you will discover that this island is culturally rich.

Last year, I was given a Schengen Visa with multiple entry valid for one year. I used it once when we visited and attended Fespa in Munich, Germany. Our trip then was too long and so tiring. Probably the worse trip I ever had. We waited for too long in the airport. We took Qatar Airways from Manila to Qatar and Qatar to Berlin What is even worst is that Qatar Airport is really small. You can't do much there.
On our way back home, we were stranded again in the airport as there was a strong typhoon that time in Manila with zero visibility. So we were not allowed to leave the airport. There were hundreds of complaining travelers. Believe it or not, I slept on the floor. I didn't care anymore! I was just too tired and can't stand anymore! That was a nightmare!
We have a new supplier in Portugal for paper and plastic. My boss already instructed me to check on our itinerary for next month. Since I have a Shengen visa already, I am probably the number candidate to go with him. How lovely! For sure there is a sidetrip somewhere. I will suggest for Faro, its located at the beautiful southern coast of the country. I have to check on Faro airport transfers services. I wont let the same experience in Qatar will happen again in my traveling life.

I have been contemplating of bringing my kids to my hometown in Bukidnon to introduce them to country side living. They are practically a city living kids, recreation are energy consuming machines - like television, computer games, playstation, with occassional play in the park. But no activity that involves playing with animals, making their hands dirty, swim in the river. Stuff like that! I miss my life when I was still young.
These are the top five activities in the countryside:
1. Plant a tree. Teach kids about protecting the environment and planting tree with their own hand is a good start.
2.Feed the animals. We have animals like chicken, goat and cow. In Dumaguete, its their chore to feed the chickens every morning and every afternoon. Chickens were overfed though.
3. Take a pick. Pack the baskets and try to harvest with whatever there is to harvest. For instance, vegetables like tomato and other stuff.
4. Explore the area. Let them walk barefoot in the grass, play with stones, and small animals or insects.
5. Picnic. Sit under the trees and bring some food to share. My kids love to picnic, they will surely enjoy their short little getaway.

I am beginning to love to have day off from office work on a Friday as I can be a normal mom on that day. Checking their assignment on Thursday night, fixing them before going to school, and picking them up after class.
I picked up the boys yesterday and was happy that it is their Book Month and there are quite a few book sellers in the school. I bought several kids story book and coloring book for my little princess. Then I also bought some recipe books at super cheap price. One of the book is this Practical Barbecue at Php 35.00 each. Cool!

This collection features a fascinating range of barbecue recipes that can be easily be prepared outside in the open air. Exciting new recipes are introduced, as well as a selection of traditional family favorites to tempt every palate.
