Foods to Fight Insomnia
Sunday, September 11, 2011Most adults have experienced insomnia at one point in our lives. According to statistics, an estimated 30%-50% of the general population are affected by insomnia, and 10% have chronic insomnia.
"Insomnia is "difficulty initiating or maintaining sleep, or both" or the perception of poor quality sleep. Insomnia may therefore be due to inadequate quality or quantity of sleep."
Thus, before experiencing this symptoms, let us be reminded of the foods that fights insomnia.
- Potassium - bananas, leafy green vegetables, watercress, citrus
- Fruits, sunflower seeds
- B Complex - cantaloupe, yeast, brewer's yeast, raisins, beans
- Biotin - unpolished rice, nuts, beef liver
- Calcium - milk, meat, fish, eggs, cereals, veggies and fruits
