The kids are getting ready now to go to the farm to fish. Its not really a pond but we want the kids to experience how to catch a fish. We made a make-shift fish catcher hoping to catch some. If we cant catch, then will just buy some nice fish for grilling for our dinner tonight. I heard that Grills Direct has an ongoing weber grill sale onsite.

Anyway, time for me to end this post as we need to catch some earthworms first.

After our family vacation in Singapore where we visited Universal Studios, my kids are now talking about visiting Disney Land Hongkong. They have been pestering us since then. But lets see how it goes, we never know what the future brings, at least I know what they want. I guess its better to travel with the entire family than spending money for birthday parties.

My brother visited Orlando, Florida before and advised me that instead of going to Hongkong, why not plan ahead, travel with the kids and stay at the popular Orlando Hotels. This will surely make the kids extremely happy as it is their long time dream to visit United States. Not only the kids, but also the kids at heart!

Happy Chinese New Year foodies! On Monday, the Philippine government declared as a non working holiday for the first time thus the celebration of the Chinese Year in Manila was extra ordinary. Not that I was there but it was evident in the news channel. We are Chinese but we always eat Tikoy during Chinese New Year.

Tikoy or Nián gāo is a type of rice cake made from glutinous rice flour and considered as a must served during Chinese Year. Its normally fried deep in egg. Its sweet, so sticky and yes yummy! It was my plan earlier that I should prepare something like what the Chinese do, but didn't have the time to do it. We recently just moved to Dumaguete and have plenty of things to arrange and do.

I heard that the people born on Year of the Dragon will not succeed this year, first, they'll lose their job! Oh well, I just lost mine! It's a bad news but I am hoping and praying that things will get better. Hope one day when all are in places, I could buy myself a diamond eternity band. I think I deserved this!

Anyway, lets all eat tikoy now! This is actually my afternoon snacks!

I just arrived from my 3 days trip in Cebu City. I was supposed to meet up some college friends but I wasn't able to that again as I was busy looking for store space for the expansion of the company. According to my boss, he wants to expand in Cebu City and Davao City as soon as possible so I took the chance that my colleague was already in Cebu that time. Together with my Aunt, we drived the streets in Lapu Lapu, Mandaue City and Cebu City. I saw several shops of guitar and can't help but buy a guitar case for my friend. Guitar is one of the best Cebu has to offer aside from the usual Shamrock Otap and danggit.

It's January already but I haven't had the chance to post here our vacation photos in my home province, The City of Golden Friendship - Cagayan de Oro City and Bukidnon - opps I forgot the tagline for my home province. Too bad, but hey, I will surely update this!



Cagayan de Oro and Bukidnon are the places which I considered home. I have lived to so many places but its different when you are with your real friends, even if the budget wasn't available by year ends, we still went with the family especially that I have purchased the tickets months before our scheduled departure. It was first time my kids stepped foot in Mindanao. It was surely a different environment for them. They loved the mountains, rivers, lakes, trees, farms, animals and the bumpy roads most especially. We were traveling around Cagayan de Oro and Bukidnon using my mom's van but would be nice if we could hire a recreational vehicle. My son pointed out a rv repairs shop close to the city.

The trip was indeed exhausting but what I love most is that I was able to introduce to them, the real me - where I grew up, who are my friends, where I study in Elementary and High School, what life is it close to the farms. It was surely a different life than what we are now, it was simpler and perhaps happier. They liked it but they dont like to stay there because they dont have friends there. You see, friends are important!

Hubby is currently in Dumaguete so I have to ask our driver to pick me up or ride with Uncle C on the way to the office. Its not so nice to always ask someone a favor but that is my way of commuting at the moment. Worst comes to worst, I would have to take a public transfer but that doesnt guarantee an earlier arrival or pay the tricycle a lump sum so he can directly take me to work - thats Php 150.00 and not really small. If I could only take a driving lesson again so I can drive the car which is just parked infront of the house. Its my long time dream and probably will pursue this long time overdue plan.

Next problem is, as I am more of a passenger, I am not so familiar with the streets in Metro Manila so I would have to purchase a gps software. But is the GPS system in Manila already being updated? I heard from an expat before that he activated and used the GPS and he got lost! Sounds funny but really true! Well, I guess its time for me to make up my mind. Be a driver or just a passenger?

Guess who is going the grace the country this January 22, 2012. It's no other than the former gospel singer-turned pop sensation Katy Perry on her return to Manila for her California Dreams Tour 2012. I am not really a fan of her but I love her Firework, I Kissed A Girl, Teenage Dream and her latest single, The One That Got Away. Not really a fan right but got lots of favorites?



As this is going to be held at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds, I am confident that its going to be safe and efficient as their material handling facility guarantees that. The only hindrance for me now is - will hubby let me watch this? :)

Lechon lechon lechon, yes thats probably the number one food served during Christmas season. And yes, for me, I had enough lechon last December thus for my new resolution this year, I will not eat lechon forever! Nah, just kidding! Oh well, lets be conservative and say - 1 month. And next month, will update again. Hopefully, this resolution will stretch to 2 months or even 1 year. Do you believe in that? I doubt it! lol

Anyway, for January 2012, less pork more fish! You see, I am really craving for fish and other seafoods after the recent flashfloods in Mindanao. Of course, everyone is afraid to eat fish. So while we were in Mindanao - Cagayan de Oro and Bukidnon specifically - we feasted on pork and chicken all the time!
