For frequent travelers, budget airlines are such a blessing! It opens the door to easier and more affordable trips especially here and around Asia. When Diosdado Macapagal International Airport in Clark boomed this year, more budget airlines came in to serve Filipinos travelers. However, since it is located in Pampanga, many still hesitate to take flights from this airport. To help ease out your worries, let me tell you about the hassle-free trip my friend had from Clark to Kalibo a week ago.
She booked a promo ticket a couple of months ago via one of the newly opened budget airlines servicing Clark, Kalibo, Davao and Puerto Princesa. The flight was 7 AM so she decided to stay the night before at Clark. From Manila, you can take buses that ply Manila to Baguio with stopovers at Dau-Mariveles and get off there. The trip only took an hour and a half, then from the bus terminal, take a jeepney ride to Astropark where there are a lot of budget accommodations near the jeepney terminal that can take you the airport. You can wait for other travelers going to the airport and divide the cost of the jeepney trip among yourselves. The people of Clark are very helpful, approachable and accommodating, you’d easily find your way around with their help.
